Carboneum /2012/
200 x 100 x 60 cm, glass, water, graphite powder
Former Spa for Electric company employees, Prague, Czech republic
"Kolaboratorio Vol. 2" / 26. 4. - 29. 4. 2012
Site-specific installation use a bathtub in a former spa, divided it by glass panes into three spaces and filled with water. A graphite powder is spread on the surface of the two side sections, changing thus the perception of optical qualities of water – it is no longer possible to see the depth, the surface becomes dead. The layer of graphite also deadens any movement of the water and disables typical reflexion of the surface, which becomes matte and velvety. Only the middle section allows the viewer to peek under the surface.
