Two diagonally placed “pockets” of white textile filled with air are hung in a vaulted gallery space. They are hung so that the viewer is enticed into the narrow passage between the two pockets. The most powerful and actually the only possible perception of the installation is solely within its internal passage, between the stretched and swelling air-filled canvas. Inside the clean white space the viewer is free of visual perception. Perception is reduced to the pulsing surface of the canvas surging against the arched ceiling. All additional angles of view are purposefully limited to a minimum by the proportions of the installation |
